Authenticity We endeavour to produce replicas as close as possible to resemble the actual vessel as they would have appeared during their service.  Strong emphasis is placed on authentic proportion dimensions.   Construction Plank on bulkhead method is used.  All components are pinned with bamboo dowels for authenticity, strength and durability.   Materials Bulkheads: S A pine plywood.  Tree nails: 1mm and 2,5mm diameter Bamboo.  No metal nails are used at any stage.   Cannon barrels and anchors: Metal castings Blocks and deadeyes: Beech, Boxwood, pear Adhesives:  Cold white wood glue, cynoacrilate (super glue) and epoxies. Planking, deck fittings masts and spars: Beech, walnut, mahogany, cherry, teak, pear, ash, SA Pine, etc Below the waterline: Usually painted or copper clad... Rigging: Assembled with flax, linen and cotton threads.  Authentic ropes are purpose made where necessary. Every single knot is secured with super glue. Sails are fashioned from linen or special artist craft paper.  A permanent wind-filled shape is given where applicable.   Finishing Special care is taken to finish all vessels in colours and textures to closely represent the actual ships for the period.
